Outdoor Recreation leader resigns

Nebraska game and Parks Commission Director Rex Amack today announced his intention to retire in 2012 April, at the end of his term at the moment.

Derived from the Red Cloud, Neb., Amack began his career with a Commission as an intern at the University of Nebraska in June 1967 worked in the Ministry of information and education. After graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in May 1968, he joined the Commission as a full-time employee in the same Department. In cooperation with the Nebraska educational television network, help develop the Commission beyond Amack Nebraska television program, which he hosted for several years.

Amack says development of Eugene t. Mahoney State Park is an important achievement during his tenure. “Mahoney State Park is the largest construction projects ever undertaken of the capitol Commission. Gen leading the charge to the Nebraska game and Parks Foundation and together they raised money to build the Park.
