RIYADH: In the wake of the growing number of accidents involving the girl students who need to travel the distance between their homes and institutions of higher education, Minister of higher education Khaled Al-Anqari has come up with a solution that drastically.

He announced The decision to build housing facilities for girl students in all university towns around the new Kingdom. Expressing deep sadness over the death of 12 female University students in a terrible accident Hail last month, the Minister said that there has been coordination with universities to make accommodations for women students from remote location, Al-Watan daily reported Sunday.

“This will be a temporary arrangement for students wishing to live in University dormitory facilities until it is finished for them. Horrible tragedy has resulted in accelerating the implementation of the project, “he said, adding that the student accommodation of women is an integral part of University projects implemented all over the Kingdom of new town.

The Minister made this statement while speaking to reporters after signing a contract to carry out the projects of the University in his Office here on Saturday. Projects, which will be held on some of the City University, estimated to cost more than SR1 billion. This includes the University Hospital at the University of Al-Jouf and Najran, leveling the site for the construction of the complex of the Faculty of the University of Rafha, in addition to setting up power plants in the northern border of the University, Arar.

According to the Minister, projects two University Hospital is part of a comprehensive development projects involving nine University hospitals, costing in excess of SR4 billion. “Four contracts have been signed to run it. Projects of this University are under various stages of implementation in the cities of University of Hail, Jazan, Taiba and Al-Qassim, “he said.
